When we think of land protection, we usually think of the larger land trusts in our state, groups like Conservation Florida or the Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast.
It’s never been our goal to be in the land protection business . . . But when an opportunity arose this past year, we took it!
All Florida is setting up protections for a 102 acre marsh in Lake County. This sliver is adjacent to a subdivision, but also buffers additional wetlands that might eventually be suitable for a larger holding as a conservation tract.

All land has value, and all wetlands are important, whether connected to the corridor or not (this is absolutely not connected). But, we’ve always held the idea to not let “perfect” be the enemy of “good” and saving this property will allow for food and rest for migratory birds, habitat for aquatic reptiles, meso predators like otters and raccoons, and aquifer recharge in a rapidly growing part of the state.
We’re proud to be sought after to engage on ALL conservation issues, from wildlife to woods and water, and this parcel is a celebration of what can be in the future of our state!
