May 15, 2023One of the most important things we can do as conservationists is engage in the process.
In 2023, our members have already made a huge impact in this space . . . We’ve had members attend over 100 meetings this year, and we’re not even to the halfway point yet!
From meeting with Congressmen and Women over the Farm Bill, to state lawmakers, to local county commission meetings, we’ve made sure we’re in the rooms where it happens for Wild Florida. Agency after agency, our squad has shown up and made sure our perspectives were heard by the decision makers in the room.
We’ve provided input on National Wildlife Refuges, state laws, lake management plans, comprehensive plans, wildlife corridors, federal conservation funding programs, wildlife policy, habitat improvements, and many other topics affecting the woods, water, wildlife, and way of life in our favorite state!
Remember the old story about planting a tree? The best time was ten years ago, the second best time is today. All Florida recognizes that there’s never a better time to engage than today.
We love to say, often, “Decisions get made by those who show up” – our team has embraced this philosophy, and we hope you will too!
